The Super Bowl is right around the corner, and in an attempt to get a little bit ahead, I decided to start making some snacks for the big day. My friend Emily made these peanuts and they seemed perfect. If anything’s as manly as football and beer, it’s gotta be peanuts and barbecue. So why not combine them?
Well, I won’t lie. I didn’t get very ahead. I burnt the majority of the peanuts. And the few that weren’t burnt were quickly consumed. So I guess I’m back to square one.
How’d I burn the nuts? I blame my lysdexia and my crappy oven knobs. The oven knob lists temperature in intervals of 50, with little ticks in between each 50. I went to the wrong side of 350 and set my oven to 375 instead of 325. Oops. I need my old digital oven back! Good thing Kaiser likes burnt peanuts!
Luckily, I was able to salvage a few for tasting, and they were quite yummy! Though my guests won’t be sampling them this year, they’d definitely be a great football snack!
