Lucky Shamrock Krispie Treats

March 16, 2014 by jessfuel 9 Comments

Guys. Have you seen my new site yet? If you are reading this in an email or RSS feed, click over to Jess Fuel right now and check it out. I am so excited about it! It took a TON of work (probably a lot more than it actually seems like, or should have), but I’m really pleased with the final result. Which isn’t actually the final result, because it’s still a work in progress. A few more tweaks here and there, perhaps. I’m especially pleased with my new recipe index, which is way more fun and pretty than the old text-only list. Wahoo!

Lucky Shamrock Krispie Treats for St. Patrick's Day

Anyhow, tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day. I wasn’t really planning on making anything fun this year, seeing as how it’s on a Monday and all— the least fun day of the week. But then, as I was perusing the aisles of the grocery store, I stumbled upon a box of Lucky Charms with only clover marshmallows, and I immediately put it in my basket. I’m a marketer’s dream.

And so, Lucky Shamrock Krispie Treats were born.

Lucky Shamrock Krispie Treats for St. Patrick's Day

Lucky Charms Marshmallow Treats

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups Lucky Charms

Melt the butter in a large pot over medium-low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until melted. Remove from heat and stir in Lucky Charms. Mix until evenly coated. Pour mixture into a nonstick-sprayed 9×13 pan. Press mixture down into pan using a nonstick-sprayed piece of wax paper. Let cool completely before cutting.

Thanks! πŸ™‚ They came out awesome… my college cafeteria used to make krispie treats out of Lucky Charms and I loved them… but this is the first time I’ve tried!

The blog looks great! The new look is very chic!

I’m a sucker for all kinds of krispie treats. I made so many for Stephen the last time he was deployed, I think he has zero interest in me sending more, but these look so fun! If he doesn’t want any, I guess I might just make a batch and eat them all myself. πŸ˜‰

Your blog is so cute Jess! I love your name too. Perfect for a Navy wife. Obsessed! Did you do all the design yourself? I’m impressed! I had to hire someone to do all of mine.

This lucky charms rice crispie treats are such a good idea! Perfect St. Paddy’s day treat : )

And thanks for commenting on my blog, because now I’ve found your blog! Can’t wait to see what you’ll be cooking up next : )

A lot of the design is premade, and the rest is thanks to my tech-savvy hubby. I’m pretty useless when it comes to we design, but I’m trying!
