Rice Krispie Footballs

February 4, 2012 by jessfuel 6 Comments

Are you ready for some football??!!

If you’re still looking for something to make tomorrow, these are perfect. Really cute, and really easy! I’ve actually never made Rice Krispie treats before, and I was surprised at just how easy they were. Cleaning the pot, on the other hand, is a different story.

Rice Krispie Footballs

(adapted from Kellogg’s)

  • 3 tbsp margarine
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 6 cups Cocoa Krispies
  • White decorating frosting

In a large pot, melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until melted.

Turn off the heat, add peanut butter, and stir until combined. Add the cereal and stir until well coated.

Let the mixture cool a few minutes, then, with buttered hands, form the mix into football shapes.

Once the footballs are completely cooled, pipe some laces on with white frosting.

I was so happy with how these came out. So adorable! And super tasty as well (I may have sampled one or twelve.) I can’t wait to serve them tomorrow, and hopefully kick a little Giant ass.
