Happy Friday! Here’s a quick and easy, but super delicious one!
One of the things in my Mom’s ingredient goodie box was a can of French’s french fried onions. I don’t usually use the recipes on food packages, but I really had no idea what to do with french fried onions aside from making green bean casserole. And the recipe on the can for Crunchy Onion Chicken actually looked quite tasty!
I decided to use chicken tenders instead of full breasts because they’re way more fun to eat!
Crunchy Onion Chicken Fingers
(adapted from French’s)
- 2 cups French’s french fried onions
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 lb chicken tenders
- 1 egg, beaten
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place the onions and flour in a ziplock bag and lightly crush.
Dip the chicken tenders in egg.
Then coat in onion mix and place in a nonstick sprayed baking pan.
Bake the chicken fingers 18-20 minutes, until cooked through.
Serve with ketchup… or Nick’s favorite: Branch. Branch? BBQ + ranch = Branch.
The chicken fingers came out awesome! I can’t even remember the last time I had chicken fingers. It’s been way too long. The onions were definitely a different, fun flavor. I just wish I’d made some sweet potater fries on the side!
