Is there any better combination in this world than chocolate and peanut butter? I don’t think so.
We still had a bunch of Halloween candy leftover, and with the next holiday on the horizon, I decided it was time to use it up. Since we’re leaving Oklahoma soon, we had a few people over to celebrate/mourn, and I made these cookies.
Speaking of leaving Oklahoma soon… Nick’s class had a little fun-filled family day since they’ve successfully completed their training in the T-6. Here are a few glimpses of scenic Vance Air Force Base:

Though we won’t miss Enid, we will definitely miss Vance and all the people here. But we’re excited to move on to the next adventure!
Ok, back to chocopeanut goodness.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies
(adapted from Betty Crocker)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup peanut butter, softened
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup Reese’s Pieces
- 1/3 cup M&M’s
- 1/3 cup Peanut M&M’s
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper. With a mixer, cream together butter, sugars and peanut butter until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. Add egg and vanilla and mix until combined.
In a bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. Add flour mix to butter mixture and beat to combine. Fold in candies.
Drop heaping teaspoons of dough onto cookie sheets.
Bake 8 to 12 minutes until edges are set. Cool 2 minutes on cookie sheets and then transfer to wire racks to cool.
Enjoy!
