Harvest Fridays – June Harvest

June 26, 2015 by jessfuel 4 Comments

Hi friends! Remember the time I left town for a bachelorette party and forgot it was Harvest Friday? No? Well… it’s today!

#flamingle

Turns out, though… there isn’t too much new in the garden. The fish in the aquaponics are still alive (hooray!) and the outdoor garden is surviving, if not thriving. We haven’t had the great harvests that we’ve had the last couple years, but, we’re still getting a good amount of veggies.

So not many garden updates, but here are the harvests for the week!

Potatoes, our biggest ever bell pepper, our first roma tomato, and some yellow squash!

Garden Harvests

Tons of yellow tomatoes and jalapeños, our first corn cobs plus some more tomatoes, potatoes and squash!

Garden Harvest Onions and carrots!

Garden Harvest

This basil was made into delicious pesto!

Garden basil turned pesto Some of the tomatoes became this awesome caprese salad…

Caprese

And one night dinner included garden potatoes and a salad with garden tomatoes and pepper!

Happy harvesting!! Today was short and sweet BUT my computer problems have been solved, so I’ll be back soon.

ohhhh delicious!! What an amazing garden you must have! Nothing better than fresh veggies! Ironically, I am roasting broccoli, carrots, and multi colored mini peppers and tomatoes in olive oil in the oven as I am writing this. I have seasoning on them and the smell is just heavenly!

Ooooh yum, that sounds awesome!! We love growing broccoli but it’s too hot in the summer for it… I’ll be planting my winter crop soon enough!
