Blood Orange Mojitos

April 21, 2015 by jessfuel 19 Comments

These Blood Orange Mojitos combine fresh mint, blood orange juice and light rum for a perfectly refreshing and colorful spring drink!

Blood Orange Mojitos

There is a serious lack of delicious cocktails on this site. Seriously. We make fun cocktails pretty often, especially in the summer, but we’re usually having too much fun to stop and take pictures!

Yesterday I found out that one of my good friends is moving far, far away… ACROSS THE OCEAN far away. Wahhhh. Sometimes the Navy and I are not friends. We’re kind of in a fight right now.

So I needed a drink. Or like, 10.

I got a whole bunch of blood oranges from a friend’s tree. More than I could eat before they went bad. So I juiced a bunch of them, and the juice became the base for some yummy mojitos. I love how pretty blood oranges are! They’re perfect for drinks and desserts. Our mint plant is flourishing right now, so mojitos were an obvious choice. I need to use lots of mint before the summer heat takes its toll on my poor plant.

These look AMAZING! The extent of my cocktail-making abilities is limited to sangria (aka wine and a bunch of fruit), but these don’t seem much harder. I’ll definitely be making them soon! πŸ˜‰

It’s always hard to have a close friend move, but thank goodness for Skype and the internet. You’ll stay connected. I love the blood orange mojitos. I’ve had blood orange in margaritas, but never in mojitos! πŸ™‚ Yum.

They definitely do in Louisiana, so I would imagine they have them in FL too? Either way, I can get the goods! πŸ™‚
