Staying Healthy Through the Holidays {with NatureBox}

November 13, 2014 by jessfuel 6 Comments

The holidays! Oh, the holidays. One of my favorite times of the year. I love the festive decorations, the music, the time spent with family. But let’s face it– mostly, I love the food.

Throughout most of the year Nick and I eat pretty healthily. But when the holidays roll around, all bets are off. The struggle is real. From the time Halloween candy hits store shelves until New Year’s resolutions finally roll around, it’s definitely hard to stick to a healthy routine. Holiday flavors are so enticing because it seems like you have to eat all the pumpkin now before it’s no longer available. Eat all the peppermint. Drink all the eggnog! It’s rough.

A great way to make sure you are sticking to a mostly healthy diet during the holidays is to snack smart! It’s easy to make healthier choices when you have delicious, healthier options available on hand.

Staying Healthy Through the Holidays with a NatureBox Subscription

Have you guys heard of NatureBox? It’s a subscription service that sends a world of carefully sourced and nutritionist-approved foods right to your door! I have been a NatureBox subscriber for a few months now and I love it! NatureBox snacks are perfect for this indulgent holiday season as a better for you snacking alternative – delicious snacks for your holiday party (and options for all of the picky eaters), easy and unique additions to fall/holiday recipes and fun ways to change up the lunchbox routine.

When you join NatureBox, you’ll receive five different snacks every month. You can choose the snacks you want or be surprised with their carefully curated selections. Each snack contains wholesome ingredients – with no artificial sweeteners, flavors or colors, zero grams trans fats, and no high fructose corn syrup. You can learn more about their Product Promise here.

NatureBox has so many snacks to choose from, and many of them include the seasonal fall and holiday flavors that we all love! They sent me a box to review and it came brimming with fun fall flavors! Lots of healthy treats to keep me satisfied and away from the season’s temptations.

Lots of yummy NatureBox snacks!

Leftover Halloween candy is my arch nemesis, and since trick or treaters got rained out this year, I have tons. Halloween is the one time of year I really eat junky fruity candy. There is something about the sweet chew that’s addictive. One of the snacks that came in my box was dried pears.

Let me tell you, these babies are GOOD. They are sweet and chewy… and full of natural stuff like fiber and vitamins! Instead of reaching for candy, I am reaching for these yummy pears!

Their Pumpkin Spice Nom Noms were little bits of heaven. Like a pumpkin oatmeal cookie, but so much better for you! And the Cranberry Macaroon Granola really did taste like cookies and would be perfect on top of some pumpkin yogurt for a healthy seasonal breakfast.

One of my favorite snacks in the box was the Apple Cinnamon Crave. It’s basically a trail mix full of healthy nuts and fruits that tastes like apple pie. Seriously, this was so yummy.

If you’re more of a savory snacker, check out NatureBox’s Roasted Garlic Pumpkin Seeds. These were full of flavor and would definitely keep me out of the chips and dips!

I love that NatureBox has so many different types of tasty, high-quality snacks. It’s great for getting yourself out of a snacking rut and also so fun to open your mailbox and find a treat!

    I totally know what you mean about overindulging in the holiday foods, happens to me every year! NatureBox is such a great idea to stay on track! I’ve heard of them before, but haven’t tested it out yet. I will definitely look into it!

    Looks delicious! I am anticipating the holidays with both excitement (all of that food!) and dread (still trying to get back to my pre-baby weight). Looks like a perfect solution 🙂
